Hidden Nine Patches Quilt Pattern

Finished Size: 76″ x 80″

Materials Needed
* Light and dark shades of the same hue of cotton or batiks fabric, at least 1/2 yard of each
* Thread
* Sewing machine
* Rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat
* Iron and ironing board

Instructions

1. Cut the fabric into 9″ squares. You will need 48 light and 48 dark squares.

2. Arrange the 9″ squares into the Hidden Nine Patches block, alternating the light and dark colors. You will need to make 12 blocks.

3. Sew the 9″ squares together in each block, using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Press the seams open.

4. Sew the blocks together in 6 vertical columns of 7 rows. Make sure the light and dark colors are alternating.

5. Sew the columns of blocks together, using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Press the seams open.

6. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing fabric. Pin or baste the layers together.

7. Quilt as desired.
