Instructions For This Pattern:

Quilt Pattern Design

Materials:

– 25 batik fabrics in an aqua, periwinkle, and white color palette, each measuring 12″ x 12″
– Cotton batting and backing fabric
– Quilting thread

Instructions:

1. Begin by making 25 blocks, alternating between a 9-patch pattern and a pinwheel pattern. For the 9-patch blocks, use the aqua fabric for the center square and the periwinkle fabric for the corner squares. For the pinwheel blocks, use the aqua fabric for the center square and the periwinkle fabric for the corner triangles. Use the white fabric for the framing squares for both types of blocks.

2. Assemble the blocks into a 5 x 5 quilt top, making sure to alternate between the 9-patch and pinwheel patterns.

3. Layer the quilt top, batting, and backing fabric. Pin or baste the layers together.

4. Quilt the quilt. For the 9-patch blocks, use a straight line quilting pattern that follows the seam lines. For the pinwheel blocks, use a spiral quilting pattern that radiates from the center square.
