Instructions For This Pattern:

This throw size quilt pattern is made up of 10 blocks, each measuring 8″x8″. The quilt is made of solid fabrics in the colors of red, yellow, and orange. Each block contains a star pattern, with each point of the star being half the size of the block. The stars should be centered within each block and the blocks should be arranged in a symmetrical pattern.

Materials:

• 3 colors of solid fabric, 1/4 yard of each color
• Backing fabric, 1 3/4 yards
• Batting, 55″ x 65″
• Thread to match fabric

Instructions:

1. Cut out each color of fabric into 10 strips, each measuring 8″ wide x 44″ long.

2. Subcut each strip into 10 blocks, each measuring 8″ x 8″.

3. To make the star pattern, draw a 4″ x 4″ square in the center of each block.

4. Draw a diagonal line from each corner of the square to the outer points of the block.

5. Cut along the lines to create the star shape.

6. Arrange the blocks into a symmetrical pattern, alternating the colors.
