Construct a quilt in the following pattern: Begin with a maroon border of 6″ width. Cut 4 rectangles (24″ x 12″) of green fabric. Cut 4 rectangles (12″ x 12″) of white fabric. Sew the rectangles together as a twisted panel, so that the green and white rectangles alternate. Sew the 4 twisted panels together to form the middle of the quilt. For the sashing, cut 4 strips of maroon fabric 2″ x 24″ and 4 strips of white fabric 2″ x 24″. Sew the strips together, alternating the maroon and white fabric, to form a sashing that is 2″ wide. Sew the sashing to the twisted panel, making sure to line up the edges and corners. At the top and bottom of the quilt, add a 6″ border of maroon fabric.
