Instructions For This Pattern:

This quilt pattern is a great way to use up small scraps from your fabric stash. The finished throw size quilt measures approximately 56″x72″.

Materials Needed

• 72” x 88” quilt backing
• 72” x 88” quilt batting
• 1 yard of red, green, orange, and yellow batiks for the blocks, borders, and binding
• Matching thread

Cutting

From each of the four colors of batiks, cut:

• 18 (5”) squares

Piecing

1. Sew together 15 sets of 5” red and green squares to make half square triangles (HST). Press the seams open.

2. Sew together 15 sets of 5” orange and yellow squares to make HST. Press the seams open.

3. Trim each set of HST to 4-1/2”.

4. Sew nine red HST’s together to make a row. Press the seams open.

5. Sew nine green HST’s together to make a row. Press the seams open.

6. Sew nine orange
