This pattern is for a classic checkerboard quilt. The finished quilt will measure approximately 48 inches by 48 inches.

Materials:

– Fabric for the quilt top (1/3 yard of red fabric and 1/3 yard of green fabric)
– Thread
– Quilting Batting
– Binding Fabric

Instructions:

1.Cut 12- 4 x 4 inch squares of red fabric and 12- 4 x 4 inch squares of green fabric.

2. Cut 8- 2.5 inch triangles of red fabric and 8- 2.5 inch triangles of green fabric.

3. Sew the red and green squares together in a checkerboard pattern.

4. Sew the triangles onto the squares (2 triangles per square).

5. Sew the squares together in three rows of four.

6. Sew the rows together.

7. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing. Baste the layers together.

8. Quilt the top with a simple stitch.

9. Bind the edges with the binding fabric.

10. Enjoy your finished quilt!
