Materials
Fabric: Cotton fabric in 9 colors – yellow, red, blue, green, purple, pink, orange, brown, and black
Batting: Cotton
Backing: Cotton fabric
Instructions
Cutting
Cut 8” x 8” squares from each of the 9 colors. Cut 5 squares of each color for the first row and 4 squares of each color for the second row. Cut 5 squares of the next color for the third row and 4 squares of the next color for the fourth row. Continue in this way for the remaining rows. When all the squares are cut, you will have 45 squares.
Piecing
Arrange the squares in rows of 5 and 4 squares, alternating the colors. Sew the squares in each row together, using a ¼” seam allowance. Press the seams in the same direction.
Quilt Top
Lay out the rows and sew them together. Press the seams in the same direction.
Quilt Back
Select a backing fabric and cut it to measure 65
