A Graphic Quilt Pattern

Instructions For This Pattern:

This quilt pattern creates a modern, graphic look that is simple to sew. Begin by cutting 4″x6″ rectangles from the Red, White, Black and Gray fabrics. You will need a total of 600 rectangles in each color.

Next, sew Flying Geese blocks with the rectangles. Each block should measure 3″x6″ when finished. To do this, place two rectangles right sides together, with the long sides of the rectangles touching. Sew a ΒΌ” seam along the long side. Now cut the rectangle in half on the diagonal. Open the two halves and press the seam allowance open. Sew the two halves together with the right sides facing, forming a triangle. Repeat this step with the remaining rectangles, until you have a total of 600 Flying Geese blocks.

Arrange the blocks in a quilt top that measures 4’x6′ with 20 blocks across and 30 blocks down. Sew the blocks together, alternating the colors in each row. For example, the first row could be Red, White, Black, Gray, Red, White, Black, Gray, etc. Continue until all the blocks have been sewn together.
