Guitar Quilt Pattern by Patti Rea

A Guitar Quilt Pattern

Instructions For This Pattern:

Begin by cutting 8 gray blocks measuring 16″x16″, 8 black blocks measuring 16″x16″ and 32 gray blocks measuring 8″x8″. Assemble 4 large blocks by sewing the 16″ blocks together in an alternating pattern (4 black, 4 gray). Construct 4 smaller blocks by sewing the 8″ blocks together in a similar pattern. Place the larger blocks side-by-side and the smaller blocks above and below them to create a checkerboard pattern. Sew the blocks together and fill the centre with a 16″ gray block, forming the quilt’s centrepiece. Sew the centrepiece to the surrounding blocks to complete the quilt. Finally, edge the quilt using a thin strip of black fabric.
