Instructions For This Pattern:

Quilt Pattern: Scottish Country Town and Sea

Finished Size: King size, 106” x 106”

Fabric Requirements:

Total yardage of batiks: 20 yards

Backing fabric: 6 yards

Binding fabric: ½ yard

Instructions:

Cutting:

From the batiks, cut the following pieces:

• 12 – 10” x 10” pieces for the blocks

• 4 – 3 1/2” x width of fabric (WOF) strips for sashing

• 6 – 2 1/2” x WOF strips for outer border

• 2 – 1 1/2” x WOF strips for inner border

• 6 – 2” x WOF strips for binding

Piecing the Blocks:

The blocks should be divided into two sets of six blocks. The first set of blocks should feature a Scottish highland country town, with a road, buildings, and trees. The second set of blocks should depict the cliffs and sea, with a lighthouse and a sailboat.

For each block, sew together four 10” x 10” batiks
