milkyway Quilt Pattern by Ki Larmer

A milkyway Quilt Pattern

Instructions For This Pattern:

Begin by cutting (2) 10″ x 10″ squares in black, (2) 10″ x 10″ squares in blue, (2) 10″ x 10″ squares in white, (2) 10″ x 10″ squares in silver, and (2) 10″ x 10″ squares in green. To create the half square triangles, lay one square of each color right sides together, and draw a diagonal line. Sew a ¼” seam on either side of the line. Cut apart on the line and press the seam open. Repeat for all of the squares to create 12 half square triangles in each color.

Arrange the triangles in a 5×5 pattern to create a 25 block quilt. Each row should have one black and one blue triangle, one white and one silver triangle, and one green triangle. Alternate the colors in each row, starting with the black and blue in the first row, the white and silver in the second row, and the green in the third row.

To complete the quilt, sew the blocks into rows, alternating colors. Start with a black and blue row, then a white and silver row, and finally a green row. Sew the rows together in a random order
