The quilt is made up of blocks of alternating design, with a total of 25 blocks. The blocks measure 12” x 12” and are arranged in a symmetrical pattern. The quilt is constructed using a 1/4” seam allowance.

The first block is a light blue sky with bursts of orange and yellow. The second block is of a mountain stream with grey and blue water, trees, rocks and small fish. The third block is the same as the first, and the fourth is the same as the second. This is continued for the other 21 blocks, alternating between light blue sky and grey and blue stream.

For the light blue sky blocks, cut one 12” x 12” piece from the light blue fabric. Cut 2” x 2” pieces from the orange and yellow fabrics and arrange them randomly on the sky fabric. Sew the pieces in place and then use a walking foot to quilt the block in a spiral design.
