This lap size quilt pattern is designed to create a beautiful quilt with 8 symmetrical blocks. The quilt measures approximately 52” x 52” when finished.

First, gather your supplies. You will need red cotton fabric for both the quilt blocks and the border, batting, and backing fabric.

Next, cut the fabric into the necessary pieces. Cut 64 blocks of red fabric at 4.5” x 4.5” each. Cut the border fabric strips at 4” x 52” each. Cut the batting at 52” x 52”. Cut the backing fabric at 54” x 54”.

Begin constructing the quilt blocks. Arrange 8 blocks in a row and sew them together with a ¼” seam allowance. Repeat this pattern 8 times. Lay out the blocks and make sure the quilt is symmetrical.

Sew the border strips together to create a single strip. Attach the border strip to the quilt with a ¼” seam allowance.
